LaBarre Wedding

All photography on post is by Nicole Colwell Photography

I seriously have been so excited to write this post. I wanted to share our special day with you. It might not be exactly what other people would want, or what is the biggest trend- but we didn't care. This day was all about our love story and with a little bit of sweat and a lot of tears, it all came together so perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

I wanted to highlight some of our vendors and details. Kyle and I work, live, and play in downtown Roanoke. We really wanted our wedding and our out-of-town guests to know that. We tried to hire local vendors when possible- and we ended up creating some great relationships along the way.

This is just a snippet of our details. I will post more about our reception and other details on another post.

Bride & Invitation Suite Details

I had no idea that out of everything we picked for the wedding, the two things that kept me up at night was my dress and my invitation suite. - dress... understandable, but my save the dates and RSVP cards... who knew?! I first found my save the dates on Minted. I didn't have engagement photos yet and they needed to be sent out in order to meet the deadline. So we opted for a modern layout with some classic elements. Then I searched and searched for the perfect invitations that were in our price range but fit our feel. I came across the final choice on Elli. The girls at Elli were amazing. They changed the colors to best match our save the dates and were so patient with my multiple revisions (I'm telling you, this really was the hardest decision). After matching fonts and colors, this is what we came up with, and I couldn't have been happier. I got black envelopes from Amazon, along with gold gel pens. and I got lucky on the stamps from the post office (how cool, right?! They were even textured).

The Bridal details were so fun to pick out. The shoes were from Target... yea, that's right! I'm a Target addict, so it was fun to have a bit of my favorite store in my bridal look. Those flowers were actually my mother-in-laws corsage made by a local florist Foraged and Cut in Lynchburg. I found my ring box on Etsy. My engagement ring is from Finks and my wedding band is from Olive Ave (seriously go look at their website/collection... you will thank me later). All in all- we put a lot of work into our details and it was so fun to see them come together.

My dress and veil was from Ashley Grace Bridal in Lynchburg. I cannot tell you how much the girls at Ashley Grace helped me out. I didn't know if my dress was "the one", but they made sure it was everything I could want. They were fantastic. I ended up doing my own makeup, but Charlotte owner of Rock Paper Beauty Salon in Roanoke did a great job of everyone's hair and opened up the shop to us for getting ready. It was absolutely perfect.

Groom Details

One of my favorite things about Kyle is that he always cares about the details. Maybe that's just the architect in him. That being said, I didn't have any trouble convincing him that it was the little things that would make a world of difference in our photos. It took us a while to pick a tie, I think that was one of the more difficult choices. We finally found "the one" at the Tie Bar. The shoes are just his regular work shoes (maybe from Belk?), cologne from Target, watch is Tommy Hilfiger. The suits where all rented from Generation Tux. We were a little nervous about ordering online, but we couldn't have been happier. The customer service was outstanding. His ring is from Finks Jewelers. He chose it because it reminded him of concrete (his favorite building material, and with the center peak, it was very architectural, aka - very Kyle.

That has been a little sneak peak into some of our detail of our big day. More from our bridal party and reception is coming soon!! I can't give it all away yet!

Happy Planning! -Steph xoxo
